Gullit says Napoli are a completely different team this season, adding that they have strengths in attacking and passing the ball quickly.
Napoli have been in impressive form so far this season, both in the Champions League and in Serie A. They will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at Deutsche Bank Park.
Napoli will almost certainly win Serie A this season.
Gullit said: “For me, Napoli is a candidate to win the Champions League because that’s the kind of football we all want to watch. They attack, they pass fast and it’s a team that we all admire. Bayern are very strong and we never know what Real Madrid will do, but I think Napoli is completely different.”
The Italian team is greatly appreciated in tonight’s match against Frankfurt and it will be a shock if they do not progress to the next round. They are currently flying high on the Serie A table with a 15 point difference compared to the team behind, Inter Milan.
