Manchester United have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League. They defeated Spanish team Real Betis with a score of 1-0 in the second leg at Benito Villamarin Stadium.
Manchester United’s only goal scorer is Marcus Rashford. The England international had a superb strike to crush all hopes of Betis.
While the Englishman was praised for the crucial goal, one unsung hero in this match was Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez had a quality performance.
Martinez started at the heart of the Reds defence, where he partnered Harry Maguire. And despite not having a familiar partner in defense, the 2022 World Cup champion still has a quality performance.
Martinez completes 100% tackles During his time on the field, before making way for Victor Lindelof after 75 minutes. He achieved a pass accuracy rate of up to 93% and touched the ball 50 times.
Out of 4 long passes to teammates, the 25-year-old has succeeded 3 times. Martinez also made three important interceptions, succeeding in two duels and saving a shot.
Obviously Martinez is really important to the Red Devils.
