Signing a striker is a priority in Manchester United’s upcoming summer transfer window. Anthony Martial has been sidelined for most of the season through injury, while Wout Weghorst has been disappointing.
Weghorst has only been asked to borrow until the end of the season, so a solution to bring in a new striker in the summer transfer window will be necessary for Manchester United.
Manchester United soon put Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane on the shortlist. The Telegraph confirmed that coach Erik ten Hag has been following this striker duo since the beginning of the season.
However, the price of Osimhen and Kane is too high. Therefore, both deals are at risk of reaching a dead end. Therefore, Man Utd is forced to have an alternative.
According to Football Insider, Manchester United are interested in Brentford’s Ivan Toney. This player has been outstanding since the beginning of the season when he reached 20 goals in all competitions.
In the Premier League, Toney scored 19 goals, a record only behind Kane and Erling Haaland. Man Utd will face competition from Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
Brentford is said to value the striker at £50m.
