Profile of Mr. Toshiya Miura when he was appointed as Thailand U20 coach.
On the morning of March 19, Buriram United Football Academy announced a new coach for the Thailand U20 project, which is in charge of the Buriram United club. The chosen one is Mr. Toshiya Miura, former coach of Vietnam and U23 Vietnam.
“I was chosen to be the Thailand U20 coach. With my experience, I look forward to developing Thai youth football and Buriram United in the future,” said Mr. Miura on the Buriram United Football Academy website.
The coach born in 1963 will coach 51 Thai U20 players. These are the players who have passed the test of the “New Era” project, coordinated by FAT and Buriram United from 2022. Buriram Club will organize the selection of players and appointment of coaches.
This is the second time Mr. Miura has played football in Southeast Asia. This time, he is in charge of Thailand’s youth team. The contract term and specific goals have not been announced by the parties. However, the name Miura was very familiar to Thai people.
Coach Miura’s profile is quite monumental. He holds an S-class coach license from the Japan Football Federation. His biggest experience is working in Vietnam with the national team and U23. He also led the HCM City Club and has experience in Southeast Asia.
Before turning back to Southeast Asia, Mr. Miura worked as the technical director and manager of Gifu Club in the J3 League. The training record of the Japanese military leader was not very impressive and he was fired in May 2022.
