Fernando Santos was sacked by the Portuguese Football Federation on Thursday after his side were unexpectedly eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup against Morocco. The leading candidate to sit in the Selecao hot seat to replace Santos is said to be Jose Mourinho. This inadvertently caused Mourinho trouble.
The Portuguese military leader, when he arrived in Faro with Roma, was asked by a series of waiting reporters about the future. However, the former Manchester United manager did not give any answers.

Mourinho ignored questions about Portugal.
Video on MXH shows he resolutely ignored the media’s questions. Mourinho smiled as he picked up a microphone cover and handed it to a journalist. He then climbed onto the team bus with the players.
Understandably for Mourinho’s actions when he was under contract with Roma. The 59-year-old strategist has about 18 months left on his contract with the host team.
Mourinho’s Roma is currently in Portugal playing mid-season friendlies. They will return to Serie A against Bologna on January 4, 2023.
