Jose Mourinho has in mind the players he wants to sign to strengthen AS Roma’s midfield, looking ahead to the 2023-24 season.
According to the Italian press, the “Special One” selected four midfielders capable of strengthening the team: Marcel Sabitzer, Daichi Kamada, Renato Sanches and Habib Diarra.
– Marcel Sabitzer. After the loan period MUSabitzer returned to Bayern Munich but did not have much hope of taking a place in Thomas Tuche’s squad.
Mourinho noticed Sabitzer from the days when he led MU and then Tottenham. The Austrian will bring flexibility to Roma’s midfield.
– Daichi Kamada. One of the Asian players that Mourinho appreciates. The Japanese player can play as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder or even a back striker.
After the end of his contract with Frankfurt, Daichi Kamada is free. Milan used to approach him but recently the negotiation process was postponed.
– Renato Sanches. From a promising young talent, Renato Sanches struggled because he constantly chose the wrong club. Last year, he turned down Arsenal and Milan to go to PSG and failed.
Mourinho appreciates players football Portuguese compatriot, a very versatile factor and has a good physical background. He can bring outstanding fighting power to Roma.
– Habib Diarra. During his time with Roma, Mourinho helped many young players come to light, so it is not surprising that he is interested in Diarra.
The 19-year-old Frenchman of Senegalese origin has just had an outstanding season with Strasbourg, in the role of a defensive midfielder. Mourinho has to compete with his old team Chelsea to be able to pull Diarra back to the Italian capital.
If he recruits these four players, or half of them, Mourinho hopes to give Roma a boost in the 2023-24 Scudetto race.
