Protests against AC Milan’s proposed new stadium in the San Donato area were so intense that police had to intervene.
The Rossoneri chose private land in San Donato Milanese to plan a new stadium, allowing them to leave the San Siro. However, local people are not happy about it. A petition signed by more than 1,300 people was presented to the local government.

Milan’s new stadium is still only on paper.
According to Il Cittadino, The public debate went on for five hours and so tense that it was interrupted three times by protesters, leading to police intervention.
Mayor of San Donato Milanese supports the stadium, but only a minority of the local council does the same.
Unlike San Siro, it is hoped this new project will be able to get through the red tape. This is privately owned land and investment, without capital from the local council.
Meanwhile, renovation plans in San Siro have not completely stopped. Inter and AC are joining Milan Mayor Beppe Sala in suing to overturn the Government’s block on important architectural changes to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The Italian Ministry of Culture has introduced a similar law to protect buildings of historical importance.
