The 67th Ballon d’Or award ceremony – an award organized by France Football – will take place today (October 30), at the Châtelet Theater in Paris, France.
Despite Haaland winning the top scorer in both the Premier League and Champions League and winning the title of UEFA’s best player of the season, international media simultaneously confirmed that Messi will surpass Haaland to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
On page X, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Messi will be honored as the Ballon d’Or winner for the 8th time.
“As expected, Messi will be announced as the winner of the Golden Ball tonight – his golden ball number 8. The ceremony in Paris, everything is ready,” the Italian journalist confirmed.
Regarding Messi, the Argentine superstar affirmed that he does not value the Ballon d’Or, after winning the biggest title of his career, the World Cup.
“The QBV has the most important meaning in football, from an individual perspective. But I have never considered the Golden Ball important, because I only like collective titles.
If I win another award, that’s fine, but if I don’t, I don’t see any problem. I have won everything in football, and now I just enjoy every moment on the field.”
