Inter Miami failed to advance to the MLS play-offs, even though they unexpectedly won their first Leagues Cup in history. Failure to reach the play-offs means their season is over after Saturday’s match against Charlotte FC.
Therefore, Lionel Messi is expected to go on a short-term loan to Saudi Arabia and return to Barcelona to maintain his fitness. However, it is currently unclear whether Messi’s loan departure will come true or not.

Messi clarifies his return to Barca.
Quoted from Daily Mail, the Argentine star said:
“I will practice, I will play the upcoming match against Charlotte FC and I will try to join the national team in the highest form possible in November. After that, I will enjoy my vacation in Argentina. This is the first time I’ve had more days off in December. In January, I’ll be back for pre-season training. Let’s start from the beginning and always prepare as best as possible.”
The above statement shows that Messi will not return to Barca. He still devoted himself wholeheartedly to Miami and enjoyed his time off instead of trying to compete.
