On December 21, Kylian Mbappe was spotted at the Camp des Loges training center. French media revealed that the striker born in 1998 decided to return to practice with PSG and don’t want more days off after World Cup 2022.
This is a decision that surprised many people, because most of the players playing in the 2022 World Cup final were given extra rest by the host club after the tournament in Qatar ended. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi said: “Alexis Mac Allister is allowed to return to the club whenever he wants.”
The midfielder who excelled in Argentina’s shirt in the 2022 World Cup is likely to return to training only after the New Year break, although the Premier League will return at the end of this month. Mbappe’s teammate at PSG, Lionel Messi is likely to return to France only in January 2023.
In addition to the Argentinian superstar, Achraf Hakimi or Neymar were also given a break by the leadership of the French capital team until the end of this year. However, with Mbappe returning to the PSG training ground, it is not excluded that he can play in the round of 16 of Ligue 1, when facing Strasbourg at dawn on December 29 (Hanoi time).
Mbappe just celebrated his 24th birthday with the sadness of losing the 2022 World Cup final. He was quite disappointed by the performance of the French team. The PSG striker said during the break against Argentina: “This is the World Cup final, the match of a lifetime guys, we can’t do worse. So what shall we do? We will return to the field, increase the intensity of the game and engage in duels.”
Mbappe shined with a hat-trick in the final and successfully completed France’s first penalty, but Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni then missed and “Les Bleus” lost the match.
