As the media reported recently, the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) is completing the final procedures for three players Justin Hubner, Nathan Tjoe-A-On and Jay Idzes to obtain Indonesian citizenship and play. for this country’s national team.
However, for PSSI president Erick Thohir, that is not the ultimate goal. In recent years, Indonesian football has expanded its naturalization policy and they will soon be able to field a squad full of naturalized players.
Recently, the head of the Indonesian Football Federation revealed that he is still working actively to find more quality strikers to add to the national team. However, the Chinese president has not yet revealed who PSSI is approaching.

“We are continuing our approach, looking for more players in attacking positions,” Erick Thohir confirmed to the national media on November 8. “Hopefully there will be good news in the next 2 weeks.”
When asked about the current and future naturalization policy of Indonesian football, Mr. Erick Thohir was frank.
“We are trying to encourage the naturalization of Justin Hubner, Jay Idzes and Nathan,” the former Inter Milan owner continued. “We always say that the national team must have two squads of 11 players of the same standard.”
President Erick Thohir admitted that the injuries of Marselino Ferdinan and Ivar Jenner in October caused the Indonesian team to face many difficulties in terms of personnel, which was the reason for PSSI’s expanded naturalization policy.
“We know Ivar and Marselino were injured in the match against Brunei and Jordi is also recovering from injury,” Erick Thohir added. “So if you say we have enough players, that’s not true because it turns out we still don’t have enough.”
