A report from Fichajes states that Man Utd may consider an offer of around 50 million euros for the Mexican player. Edson Alvarez is a defensive midfielder who can also play as a centre-back. He will be a quality addition to the Red Devils because of his versatility when he can pair with Casemiro or can play in the center of defence.
The plus point of the deal is that Erik ten Hag worked with the player during his time as Ajax coach and Ten Hag knows the Mexican’s strengths very well.
In the opposite direction, Man Utd will bid farewell to Phil Jones in the near future. According to The Athletic, Phil Jones has turned down the club’s offer of gratitude. Besides, captain midfielder Harry Maguire is also said to be no longer in the Red Devil’s plan.
