Update on the Manchester United deal – Mason Mount, reporter Dean Jones said:
“The main concern here is how quickly Man United will make a follow-up after the initial offer. Making an offer so early in the transfer market shows how serious they are, but the value of the proposal shows how much they value Mount.”
“Chelsea are in a situation where they’ve made it clear that they intend to sell, they don’t want to go into pre-season with Mount still at the club.”
“But, realistically, they might not get £70m. If Chelsea appreciate Mount so much, perhaps they should have introduced clauses in the new contract that reflected that from the start. I’m not sure they’ll even make £60m.”
“My expectation after talking to a few insiders, is Man United will go back to £50m next time.”
For his part, Mount is said to be ready to move to Old Trafford.
