Barcelona has many headaches before the summer of 2024 and Joao Cancelo will likely be one of them. The Blaugrana have publicly announced their intention to keep both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo after the end of the season-long loan contract.
The Felix deal seems difficult due to Atletico Madrid’s requirements. On the face of it, signing Cancelo seems much more feasible, as he is six years older and is entering the final peak of his career. However, Barca and Manchester City are still a long way apart at the negotiating table.
It is difficult for Barca to prolong the ownership of Cancelo.
According to Sport, the Etihad Stadium team has set a figure of 50 million euros for Cancelo, although they are willing to lower the price.
