Returning after the national team gathering, coach Luis Enrique made a few positive changes to help the defending Ligue 1 champions easily defeat Strasbourg with a score of 3-0. Kylian Mbappe finally scored again after 4 silent matches for PSG.
“Yes, we are very satisfied. It was a challenging match that took place after the national team break. But I believe the players and the whole team performed very well. They approached the match seriously and we achieved this great result, not conceding a goal, winning 3 more points and it was the perfect preparation for the Champions League match”, coach Luis Enrique shared after the match.
“My idea, as a coach, is to give opportunities to all players. Obviously some people have played more. But if we want to have a chance in every competition, we need the whole team. I am very lucky because all the players on the team are highly qualified. Today, there were five or six changes but they delivered top performances and will put pressure on the players in the starting lineup to earn more playing time.”
After the victory, Paris Saint-Germain temporarily rose to 2nd place on the rankings, 1 point behind Nice, and 1 match more than AS Monaco. Victory over Strasbourg will give PSG more motivation before the confrontation with AC Milan in the Champions League.
