Despite being rated higher, Liverpool had to leave France empty-handed after losing 2-3 to Toulouse, in a match with many controversies. However, Coach Klopp admitted that his team did not deserve to win.

Coach Klopp is not satisfied with Liverpool’s defensive system.
“We cannot concede the goals we conceded today again,” Klopp said. The first goal could happen, but then it happened again in the second half, with similar situations. We were completely vulnerable, the attack was too high and we were counterattacked.
They scored 5 goals, of which 2 were disallowed and that’s obviously not good for us.
Liverpool’s loss was deserved because they won quite a few decisive situations. We had so many situations where we should have won the ball but we didn’t. On top of that, we lost the ball easily at least twice – once it was a goal, the other time I’m not sure if it was a goal or not. Defensively we didn’t do well enough.”
This defeat ended Liverpool’s 3-match winning streak. Although The Kop still tops Group E, their advantage has been reduced to 2 points compared to Toulouse itself.
