Fulham seems to want to strengthen the midfield, in the context of Joao Palhinha’s uncertain future. The Portuguese international almost completed a transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer, before the deal collapsed due to not having time to submit the paperwork. Despite recently signing an extension with Fulham, Palhinha continues to be linked with a move away from Craven Cottage.
Meanwhile, West Ham United have bolstered their midfield with the additions of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse following the departure of Declan Rice. However, they are continuing to monitor potential targets, amid speculation surrounding Tomas Soucek’s future at the London Stadium.
However, Sao Paulo will not be under pressure to sell as Maia’s contract has four years left, expiring in December 2027.
