Liverpool had been linked with Moises Caicedo and they eventually signed Wataru Endo, who had a much lesser reputation. However, Mark Lawrenson thinks it’s the right move.
Lawrenson told Paddy Power: “On the path Chelsea are going, I think Liverpool dodged a bullet by not signing Moises Caicedo this past summer. In May and June, Liverpool had no midfielder and we wondered what happened next.”
“It was funny in the match against Chelsea [vào thứ Tư], seeing Liverpool fans rave about midfield players they wouldn’t have thought of. The players Liverpool signed contributed in every way – they scored goals and they formed a beautiful trio. Even Wataru Endo, who looked a bit underweight, did well. I believe that has a lot to do with Jurgen Klopp and the way he manages the team,” Lawrenson asserted.
Despite spending a lot of money on the transfer market, Chelsea is still in the middle of the rankings and has no chance of participating in the Champions League next season.
