Atletico Madrid will host Alaves at Civitas Metropolitano this weekend, and a win could help Diego Simeone’s side close the gap on the La Liga leaders, a position currently held by Girona.
This encounter will see Atletico take on one of their most promising young players: Samu Omorodion. The 19-year-old joined Atletico from Granada in the summer and was then loaned to Alaves, where he has scored three goals in La Liga this season.

Atletico is trying to compete for the title.
Simeone said about Omorodion: “You can see his progress in the matches we watch. He is a young man, strong, has high speed and the ability to play well in the penalty area. Let’s hope he does well at Alaves, because he has a future at Atletico.
“He’s only been with us for a few days but he seems humble and hard-working. He will be an important player for our opponents tomorrow.”
Atletico Madrid and Simeone will be hoping that Omorodion does not score more goals, as they look to make it six straight wins in La Liga.
