The chairman of Leeds, Andrea Radrizzani, is a great admirer of Brendan Rodgers and added him to the shortlist for candidates coming to work at Elland Road.
Rodgers can lead Leeds next season.
Rodgers has been out of work since Leicester sacked him in April after a six-game winless streak in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, the situation in Leeds at the moment is quite complicated. They have just lost the relegation battle and have to play in the Championship next season. If Rodgers succeeds Allardyce in the hot seat at Elland Road, he will become the club’s fifth full-time manager in just 16 months.
Previously, Radrizzani wanted to keep Sam Allardyce at the club, but at this point “Big Sam” had left Leeds with “agreement from both sides”.
Also to know, Radrizzani is keen to sell his majority stake in the club to San Fransisco 49ers Enterprises, but the price remains to be negotiated.
It is possible that only when the new owner of Leeds is determined, the story of the appointment of the coach will be taken into account.
