AC Milan are not allowed to lose more points if they want to continue to challenge for the title with Napoli. Stefano Pioli’s Serie A second-placed side are eight points off the top of the table and face a mid-table Salernitana, who have won just one of their six meetings with Milan in Serie A.
The away team was much appreciated and also showed dominance from the beginning of the match. And the goal came to them after 10 minutes. Rafael Leao produces a left footed shot to the bottom left corner of the goal after Sandro Tonali’s cross.
Leao continuously scored and assisted for Milan.
Just 5 minutes later, Sandro Tonali shined on his own with a right-footed shot into the center of the goal, created by Brahim Diaz, making it 2-0. The match passed quickly with remarkable situations constantly being created, the Rossoneri still dominated the game and attacked aggressively, but Salernitana also created dangerous situations for the opponent.
In the second half, Brahim Diaz put the ball into the opponent’s net but the goal was disallowed after the referee consulted VAR.
83 minutes, Federico Bonazzoli shot into the bottom corner of the goal to keep hope for the home team. But the final score is still 2-1 in favor of Milanthey temporarily narrowed the gap with Napoli to 5 points.
