Liverpool completed the signing of Fabinho from Monaco in May 2018, just hours after losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. The Brazilian player contributed to helping the team win four major titles within 12 months. In July this year, Fabinho’s time with Liverpool ended when he joined club At-Ittihad for £40 million.
9. Mohamed Salah – 43.9 million pounds
In the summer of 2017, Liverpool signed Mohamed Salah from Roma, the Egyptian returning to the Premier League for the first time since leaving Chelsea. Salah is ranked 5th on the list of Liverpool’s all-time top scorers.

8. Cody Gakpo – 44 million pounds
Liverpool signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven in the January transfer window this year. He was linked with Manchester United but chose to move to Anfield instead of Old Trafford. One of Gakpo’s first goals for Liverpool came against Man United in a 7-0 win at Anfield in March. The Dutchman remains a key figure in Klopp’s forward line this season.
7. Diogo Jota – 45 million pounds
Diogo Jota signed for Liverpool from Wolves in September 2020. The Portugal international has scored 47 goals in 126 appearances for the Red Brigade since leaving Molineux. Following the departure of Roberto Firmino, Jota’s importance to Liverpool’s forward line has increased.
6. Luis Diaz – 50 million pounds
In January 2022, Liverpool decided to sign Luis Diaz from Porto, just a few weeks after facing the player in the Champions League group stage. Diaz suffered an ACL injury last October, keeping him out of action for most of the 2022/2023 season, but he has since returned to full fitness and is a key member of Klopp’s squad.
5. Naby Keita – 52.75 million pounds
Naby Keita is one of Liverpool’s first expensive contracts in the Klopp era. However, injuries have severely limited Keita’s playing time at Anfield. He left the club in the summer as a free agent to sign for Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.

He has quickly settled into life on Merseyside, becoming one of the key players in their new midfield, playing the full 90 minutes in all 10 Premier League games so far.

Liverpool signed Alisson Becker in the summer of 2018 for a record fee for a goalkeeper. That record was broken by Chelsea soon after with the arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga. In Alisson’s first season, he led the club to the Champions League title and followed it up with the Premier League title. He is still the main goalkeeper and plays well for Liverpool.

2. Virgil van Dijk – 75 million pounds
Virgil van Dijk came to Liverpool in a £75 million contract from Southampton in January 2018. He revived the Red Brigade’s defense and took them to the C1 final within a few months. The Dutchman was appointed Liverpool captain in the summer, following the departure of Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez in the summer of 2022 from Benfica. After an unstable first year at Anfield, Nunez has begun to find his footing this season with 7 goals in all competitions so far.
