Moving to Serie A after a relatively good season, Daichi Kamada initially received many expectations from coach Maurizio Sarri as well as Lazio fans. However, at the present time, Japanese players have to get more familiar with the bench.
Sharing about the current difficulties, Kamada said: “I didn’t think I would play so little at Lazio. I don’t feel any particular pressure not to score many goals. My role has changed because I now play as a box-to-box midfielder. Despite the tactical difficulties, I still tried my best.”
“Luis Alberto is a legend, and I understand that it is important to help him by bringing on the field a more muscular player like Matias Vecino or Mateo Guendouzi. I like the environment in Lazio. I have a good relationship with my teammates and fans, who are always warm. However, that is not enough. A professional player needs to play more consistently.”
Daichi Kamada will be absent for about a month in early 2024 because he is busy attending the ASIAN Cup with the Japanese team. This makes his importance to the Serie A representative even more affected.
