Kieran Tierney was once one of Arsenal’s best left-backs. However, in the 2022/23 season, he is a victim of coach Mikel Arteta’s rebuilding plan.
Arteta adopted a new tactic after signing Oleksander Zinchenko in the summer of 2022, deploying the Ukrainian as an inverted full-back. This approach has helped Arsenal play much better.
Tierney lost his footing and was forced to move to Real Sociedad this summer on loan.
When asked if leaving Arsenal was a difficult decision, the Scotland international affirmed: “No, it was an easy decision.
It was a big decision but an easy one. Obviously it was a big change for me. In terms of culture, league, language – everything is different. But I think sometimes you have to accept it and put yourself in uncomfortable situations.
You just have to enjoy it; Make the most of it and learn everything you can. I want to develop as a person and as a player, that is my ambition.”
