After the period of football dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, fans expect Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to become a new rival duo. Both are young and possess a great scoring record in recent seasons.
Talking about replacing Ronaldo and Messi, Haaland shared on Viaplay:
“It’s impossible to predict. I don’t like to compare myself to others. I think you have to be yourself so I don’t want to compare or relate to something like that.”
Haaland doesn’t think about the comparisons to Mbappe.
“I think the media has been doing that with Ronaldo and Messi for the last 10 years and I think they’ve pushed each other as well. I think that’s a positive thing. Barcelona and Real Madrid are up against each other. That’s it. perfect competition. But honestly, I don’t think about the comparison.”
Compared to Mbappe, Haaland has a disadvantage that is playing for Norway. If Mbappe has been with France to the top of the World Cup, it is difficult for Haaland to have an illustrious international career like his colleague.
