The Brazilian international joined the Red Devils from Ajax Amsterdam for a whopping 100 million euros last season. He has got off to a great start with goals in his first three Premier League games. However, Antony only scored one more goal in his next 30 appearances and journalist Van der Gijp believes the 23-year-old is the “worst ever acquisition” at Old Trafford.
The Dutch journalist had said that Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag would have signed Antony at any cost from Ajax last summer. He also added that Ten Hag would pay any price to reunite with his former student. This journalist also joked that Ten Hag would even consider spending 250 million euros if Ajax asked for the same thing.

Antony was too favored by Ten Hag.
Van der Gijp said via Voetbal Zone: “Ajax was too good to sell Antony for 100 million euros. He was considered Manchester United’s worst acquisition ever.”
Ten Hag is also really blind. I think If Ajax asks for 250 million euros for Antony, Ten Hag will also consider it. He was going up with Ajax at the time, but Ten Hag also had to keep in mind that one day they would have problems.”
