Ivan Toney showed impressive performances last season, scoring 21 goals and contributing 5 assists in 35 appearances. Therefore, even when the English star is unable to play due to a betting penalty, he still receives interest from big clubs.

Recently, British media said that Arsenal was targeting Toney as a way to help them increase their firepower. The Gunners are ready to make an offer in January, while Toney also wants to join Mikel Arteta’s army.

Ivan Toney backed to become Arsenal's 'modern era Ian Wright' if Brentford striker completes transfer to Emirates Stadium in 2024 - Football

Toney is in Arsenal’s sights.

According to former player Jermaine Pennant, the 27-year-old striker may become the second Ian Wright in the history of the North London team with the qualities he possesses.

“Toney would be a great signing. He is a proven goalscorer at Brentford, a great striker with a great work rate and is a valuable asset.

I would be shocked if Arsenal don’t sign him this season.”
