Handanovic was responding to Onana’s previous comments, when the Cameroonian star mentioned that his start to life in Italy was not easy.
Onana spent a year with Inter before moving to Man United, with the African star making a name for himself during Inter’s run in the UEFA Champions League last season. Handanovic, however, said that he and Onana did not get along, especially during Onana’s first few months at the club.
The former Inter goalkeeper said: “I didn’t like his behavior in the first 2 months, when he is not playing. Then he told the truth and must add that I always had a consistent attitude towards him and even helped him.”
“However, no one said that last season I had an injury that kept me out of the game, with a broken wrist, broken finger and calf strain. But I always sat on the bench with the team even when I can’t play. And I will never be against the club because I belong to the club and the fans.”
