Contrary to reports suggesting that Manchester United has changed its stance on Scott McTominay, Fabrizio Romano affirmed that the midfielder’s situation has not changed in the past year. The Italian journalist said:

McTominay has recently been playing regularly.
“With Scott McTominay, The situation hasn’t really changed in a year now. The feeling has always been that McTominay is not an ‘untouchable’ player for Man United, but it would take a truly significant offer for them to consider letting him go. Man United rejected a £20 million offer from West Ham in the summer, because unless they received a generous sum of money, they were happy to keep him.”
“McTominay is always an important choice in the squad rotation process, he is always very serious, professional and loves this club. Therefore, Man United appreciates McTominay, even if he is not in the ‘untouchable’ category. I think McTominay has a chance to stay at the club until the end of the season, especially when Casemiro is injured and not in his best form so far.”
