Antony is currently being held in Brazil for investigation after accusations were made against him. The career of the former Ajax player was seriously threatened after the scandal of assaulting and beating his ex-girlfriend was revealed. It still takes time to determine Antony’s crime, but Man Utd has issued a notice of temporary suspension of this player.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, coach Erik Ten Hag there was a certain disappointment about the unfavorable news from Antony. On his personal Twitter, Romano quoted Ten Hag about Antony’s return date: “I don’t know. Of course he’s disappointed but he’s fine.”
Recently, according to The Sun, the 23-year-old striker took a selfie with a fan in Sao Paulo. Antony also happily chatted and relaxed with friends at a swimming pool in his hometown. Sao Paulo is the place that trained Antony before he went to Europe to compete.
With the absence of Antony as well as Jadon Sancho, Ten Hag may rely on young talent Facundo Pellistri in the near future.
