Specifically, Romano confirmed: “The relationship between Man United and Axel Tuanzebe has ended. The England midfielder will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season, the decision has been made.
After loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke City, Tuanzebe is currently looking for a new chapter in his career.”
The 25-year-old centre-back has 35 appearances for the first team. Tuanzebe wore the captain’s armband against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup and set the record for being the only player to wear the armband of Man Utd at any age.
Tuanzebe will leave Man Utd.
Tuanzebe’s most memorable match was against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Unfortunately, the defender has battled a string of injuries in recent years and as a result was unable to play under Erik ten Hag.
In January 2023, Tuanzebe completed a loan deal to Stoke City for the remainder of the season. However, Tuanzebe’s time in the lower division was also not smooth when he only made 5 appearances in all competitions due to injury.
Tuanzebe was once highly appreciated by coach Jose Mourinho, but injuries inhibited the development of this central defender. Only 25 years old, but Tuanzebe is unlikely to reach the top.
