Borussia Dortmund may have beaten Newcastle on Wednesday night, but a North Tyneside traffic policeman exacted a “little revenge” by fining the team bus.
The German club will need to take some of their bonus money from the 1-0 win over the Magpies to shell out the £50 ticket on Thursday afternoon, although that amount will be reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days. Josh Valks, an engineer and Newcastle fan who was working near where the bus was parked, posted a video on Facebook of the bus being fined.

Dortmund was fined for… illegal parking.
Josh told ChronicleLive that he had a chat with Borussia Dortmund’s coaches while the players were still on the bus before they went to buy food. After the conversation, Josh said that the bus was parked on Grand Parade and people were taking pictures of the yellow and black vehicle. Around 2:30 p.m., traffic police arrived.
Josh continued: “I couldn’t believe it, I asked the police officer if he knew whose bus it was. But he said he doesn’t follow football. The bus should not have parked there and he booked the ticket straight to the driver’s window.”
