Arsenal are expected to be active in the January transfer window. They need reinforcements in midfield, with Julian Brandt a top target. Brandt, a name on Newcastle United’s radar, is a versatile star who can play as a central midfielder, winger and attacking midfielder.
Brandt is one of the players worth watching in the Bundesliga in the past Bayer Leverkusen and current Borussia Dortmund. In the past, Arsenal rookie Kai Havertz even praised Brandt at a time when Dortmund still owned Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho.
Havertz once praised Brandt.
Specifically, in February 2020, Havertz shared with Kicker:
“I sent word to Brandt on Tuesday after the match. Sancho and Haaland also didn’t play too bad but currently he is the best player at Borussia Dortmund“.
Kicker believes that Brandt and Havertz were close friends during their time together at Leverkusen. Brandt has scored 6 goals and had 5 assists this season. Recently in the Champions League, the star born in 1996 scored a goal against Newcastle United to help the host club win 2-0.
It will be interesting to see how Brandt fares in the Premier League if he joins Arsenal in January.
