The German international spoke up after the match and said he was disappointed with his teammates’ reaction after the 1-2 loss.
Gundogan was asked how much the defeat hurt Barca, he said: “I have to be honest, not as much as I would have liked. I was just in the dressing room, and of course people were disappointed, but especially after losing a big match and a result like that, I wish people would have been more disappointed and angry.”
Barca lost to Real with a score of 1-2.
“This is a problem. There has to be more emotion, especially when you lose. You know you can perform better, you can do better in certain situations. We need to take a big step forward, otherwise Real Madrid or even Girona will leave us far behind.”
“I didn’t come here to lose these types of matches and to create a gap. I also have a responsibility to myself, you know, an experienced player not to let these things happen. We need protest.”
