In the past summer, Ilkay Gundogan left Man City after 6 years with him. At Etihad Stadium, he played 188 matches and scored 44 goals. The German midfielder has joined Barcelona on a free transfer.

Gundogan is clearly a smart deal for Barca.
Recently, sharing with Bild newspaper, Gundogan revealed the reason he broke up with Man City. Gundogan said: “City waited a long time, until the negotiations became tense.”
“In the end it was a perfect ending, it came at a better time. Playing for Barcelona has been a dream since my childhood.”
Since joining Barca, he quickly won the trust of coach Xavi. Gundogan played 345 minutes in La Liga and pocketed 2 assists.
Obviously, this is a somewhat ‘bargain’ signature for the Catalan team because they did not spend a transfer fee and signed a 2-year agreement, with an option to extend for a third year with Gundogan. At Barca, the former Man City midfielder will enjoy a salary of 9 million euros after tax.
