Recently, the media confirmed that Arsenal are considering recruiting Joao Cancelo to strengthen the position of right-back in the summer market. And in the opinion of Gabriel Agbonlahor, Cancelo is actually a better option than Ben White and will become a great deal for the Gunners.
The former England striker commented:
“Yes, I can certainly see injury for that to happen.”
Cancelo is said to have been on Arsenal’s radar.
“I don’t think City will want to sell any more players to Arsenal – but Arteta will know Cancelo all too well after working with him.”
“I think it will be a great signing. They need a right-back. Ben White has had an impressive season, but if he recruits Cancelo – you will have a better solution.”
“I’m sure Arsenal would love to make that deal if Cancelo appeared in the transfer market.”
However, Arsenal may have great difficulty with the fee that Man City is asking. Football Insider reports that The Citizens are currently looking to earn around £60 million from Cancelo’s services.
