Discussing rumors related to Chelsea and Santiago Gimenez, who has scored 15 goals in just 12 matches for Feyenoord this season, Dean Jones confirmed that the Blues will target more famous strikers instead of bringing in a new striker. Other potential players besides Nicolas Jackson.
British journalist said:
“It’s a good value deal (Santiago Gimenez for £40m), and it certainly has appeal. But as far as I know, Chelsea will look for someone with a better reputation.”

Gimenez is being linked with many big teams.
“I think it would be a big risk to bring in another player that fans know little about and have little expectations for.”
“They’ve got Nicolas Jackson, a promising name, he’s that type of player. I’ve said since Jackson first arrived, he’s a good signing, But we can’t put faith in him being Chelsea’s main striker because Jackson hasn’t shown enough yet.”
“There is no evidence yet that Jackson has scored enough goals at the top level of football to prove that he can shoulder the burden of being Chelsea’s main number 9.”
