The incident happened while Gordon’s family was on their way to Chicago when they were detained at around 3 a.m. at LaGuardia Airport. According to many witnesses, they saw the former NBA star yell and hit his son when he was helping his father with luggage and accidentally spilled them.
Former star Ben Gordon was arrested for assaulting his son
Immediately the police officers at the airport ran to intervene but Gordon shouted at them and the two sides clashed. According to reports, two officers were injured during the arrest as Gordon fought off enforcement.
Gordon’s son was then taken by his aunt to a nearby children’s hospital to have his injuries checked. The 39-year-old former player was charged with assaulting his biological son and assaulting and resisting law enforcement officers.
Before that in 2017, Ben Gordon was arrested twice with different crimes. In June 2017, he was arrested by Los Angeles police when he deliberately rang the fire alarm of an apartment building.
