Simic owed his salary from May 2020 to April 2022 while playing for Persija Jakarta. It was not until September 2022 that the FIFA Complaints Chamber made a ruling on the compensation after the Croatian striker filed a lawsuit.
In the document that FIFA has just posted, Simic’s case has 23 pages of records. The club in Indonesia owes this striker 29 sums of money, totaling 457,217 USD (10.7 billion VND). This is salary, bonus and also 5% interest each.
Club Persija Jakarta has to pay a large amount of money including salary, allowances (house, airfare, living expenses) and compensation for unilaterally terminating the contract. In particular, it was the time when the Indonesian tournament was affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
After suing the old team, the striker born in 1988 moved to Radnicki Kragujevac club in his hometown of Croatia. Before that, Simic had 4 years of playing in Indonesia and was about to qualify for naturalization to play for the team of thousands of islands. Marko Simic played very successfully in Indonesia in the shirt of Persija Jakarta. He became the symbol of the club. In the 2019 season, Simic scored 28 goals. He plays an average of 30 matches/season, except for the 2020/21 season which is affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Referring to Simic, many Vietnamese fans also know it. He used to play for Binh Duong (2015), Dong Thap (2016) and Long An (2016). Simic was also a photo model while in Vietnam, but his competitive career was not very successful.
