Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Man United are monitoring at least four different centre-backs. The Italian journalist added that Lisandro Martinez’s recovery progress is an important factor for Man United to decide whether to sign a midfielder in January or wait until the summer.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Manchester United’s aim is to sign an important centre-back in 2024. Let’s see if it will be January or the summer transfer window. It also depends on the basis Assembly and budget.”

MU is looking to buy more defenders.
Man United, facing an injury crisis that has depleted their defense, will have to wait and see whether Erik ten Hag is backed to sign a new contract in January.
Romano went on to name a number of potential targets as Ten Hag searches for its most suitable defense: “But certainly, Goncalo Inacio is with Antonio Silva, (Edmond) Tapsoba and (Jean-Clair) Todibo, certainly, he is one of the players being monitored by Manchester United. Right now it’s just reconnaissance, nothing concrete yet.”
