Robert Lewandowski is currently 35 years old and will not have many years left at the peak of his career. Barcelona are well aware of this and they could look to sign his replacement next summer.
According to Sport, Barca will prioritize signing a striker on a free transfer, a tactic they have used effectively over the past few years. The source compiled a list of 9 targets in the Blaugrana’s sights in 2024:
1. Victor Osimhen
Barcelona can only dream of signing the Napoli leader. Osimhen will cost up to 100 million euros. Osimhen would be an excellent addition, but at this stage. This deal is impossible.
2. Santiago Gimenez
The Mexico international has been in impressive form for Feyenoord this season and he certainly fits the role of a striker. Gimenez would cost at least 40 million euros, an amount Barcelona can afford to pay, although Real Madrid are also said to be interested in signing the promising talent.
3. Jonathan David
David is an excellent young striker. At just 23 years old, he has his best years ahead of him and would be a great addition to Barcelona. However, he is said to be valued by Lille at at least around 50-60 million euros, a fee that may be out of Barca’s price range.
4. Victor Boniface
Boniface is in very good form for Bayer Leverkusen this season. He would be another shrewd acquisition for Barcelona, although they will likely have to compete with a number of European clubs to sign the Nigerian star.
5. Youssoufa Moukoko
The Nou Camp team tried to sign Moukoko last season when his contract was about to expire. Finally, Moukoko signed an extension with Borussia Dortmund. He is probably still on Barca’s radar, although it will be difficult to sign talent at Dortmund.
6. Moses Kean
Kean has been considered a prospect for several years now. However, signing him is likely to be a risk for Barca and other targets on this list may be better options.
7. Serhou Guirassy
Guirassy is the striker with the best form in Europe this season. He scored 14 goals in just 8 matches in the Bundesliga. However, at the age of 27 and under contract until 2026, Guirassy does not fit either of Barcelona’s criteria for signing a young and cheap contract.
8. Mehdi Taremi
Taremi played excellently for Porto for a while and he could be ready to play for a big club in Europe. Taremi’s contract expires next summer and the Blaugrana should pay close attention to his situation.
9. Anthony Martial
Martial has not shown good performance at Manchester United and he needs a change of environment to have a chance to develop. The La Liga club could take advantage of the opportunity with the French player, although that will likely depend on the price of Martial, who is under contract until the summer of 2025 at Old Trafford.
