Midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer this summer. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed the above information. Dortmund and Dahoud had an open conversation about the future of the 27-year-old star.
“I had an open and honest talk with Dahoud last week,” Kehl told BILD. Borussia Dortmund will not renew his contract this summer“.
“Dahoud has been with Dortmund for the past six years. He is a very good football star. I appreciate Dahoud both as a sport and as a person. However, Dortmund decided not to renew him.”
Dahoud will leave Dortmund in the summer of 2023.
The shoulder injury last season was invisible, causing Dahoud’s career to stall in Dortmund’s shirt. This season, the German midfielder has only made 6 appearances in all competitions.
In 2017, Dahoud joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach. In total, the star born in 1996 has 137 appearances for BVB. Dahoud promises to become the ideal free signature for many European teams.
