Juventus have officially announced the arrival of Carlos Alcaraz from Southampton, as well as confirming the details behind the transfer.
The 21-year-old Argentine midfielder has shined over the past 12 months with the Saints, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in a total of 47 appearances. He attracted the attention of the Bianconeri and other clubs across Europe.
Alcaraz’s arrival will provide an important boost to Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus midfield, which has had few options this season after the off-field troubles of Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli, which left both unable to compete in the near future.
As confirmed, Juventus brought Alcaraz from Southampton under a loan contract worth 3.7 million euros with 1.9 million euros in additional fees attached, as well as 200,000 euros in other costs. A €49.5m purchase option is also included, payable over three financial years, along with a performance-based sum.
Reports also suggest that the loan fee will depend on the number of appearances the 21-year-old plays.
