As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will not renew the contract with any player in 2023, including Frenkie De Jong due to Financial Fair Play regulations. However, Romano confirmed that the two sides will soon negotiate a new contract in 2024.
The Italian journalist said:
“I would like to clarify a certain issue about Frenkie de Jong’s contract, as it is important to mention that Barcelona will not renew the contract of any other player this year.”
Barca is made difficult by the Financial Fair Play Law.
“Not Frenkie De Jong, Ronald Araujo or anyone else. The reason comes from the Financial Fairness Law, So there will not be any changes in salaries or contracts in November and December.”
