Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that the Reds’ ‘priority’ for the right-back position at the moment is causing Dalot to put pen to paper to sign a new contract.
“For Diogo Dalot, there was a meeting scheduled; it was decided in advance that the two sides would meet after the World Cup and discuss a new contract. Man Utd is very happy with him, ” Romano told Give Me Sport.
This season, the Portuguese defender has made 20 appearances, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists. He averages 2.1 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 0.9 crosses per Premier League game.
