According to sources from journalist Fabrizio Romano, midfielder Mateo Kovacic has suffered a recurrence of his thigh injury. The Croatian star had problems in the 4-4 draw between Man City and Chelsea. Previously, Kovacic had a similar problem in September.
Kovacic will undergo in-depth tests to determine more details about the injury next week. According to Romano, Kovacic is likely to sit out for 2 to 3 weeks. This is clearly bad news for Man City.
Besides Kovacic, three other faces of the Etihad home team withdrew from the national team gathering in November including Ederson Moraes, Matheus Nunes and Nathan Ake.

Kovacic re-injured.
Ake was injured while training to prepare for the match against Chelsea. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ederson suffered a leg injury after playing the full 90 minutes in the 4-4 draw between Man City and Chelsea.
As for Nunes, the 25-year-old midfielder has muscle problems. The former Wolves star has withdrawn from the Portuguese national team’s squad preparing for two EURO 2024 qualifying matches.
Man City’s list of sick soldiers currently has three other names: Kevin de Bruyne, John Stones and Sergio Gomez.
