As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are satisfied with the impact Joao Felix has brought to the club and they plan to buy the star permanently next summer. Notably, Romano affirmed that Felix himself also wants to stick with the Blues for a long time.
The Italian journalist shared:
“I am told that Chelsea want to keep João Felix as part of a long-term project. The club are very pleased with his impact, Joao himself wants to stay.”
“The deal will depend on the fee that Atletico ask, negotiations will take place soon. The new coach, also an important factor.”
Previously, Atletico spent up to 113 million pounds to recruit Felix from Benfica, so Chelsea is expected to spend a similar amount next summer. Considering how billionaire Todd Boehly has spent money since taking over the Blues, this number probably won’t be a big deal for him.
Regarding the next captain position at Stamford Bridge, currently, coach Julian Nagelsmann and coach Luis Enrique are the two brightest candidates to become the successor to coach Graham Potter.
