Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen is reportedly not interested in a potential move to Burnley in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old has stayed in West London this summer to fight for his place under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Even with several key full-backs injured, the young Dutchman was unable to cement his place in the team.
Maatsen played just 106 minutes in the Premier League during the 2023-24 season for the Blues, making a total of seven appearances, all coming off the bench. Since making his debut at Stamford Bridge in July 2019, the defender has played just 10 times over a four-year period, including loan spells in the Championship and League One.

Maatsen refused to move to Burnley.
According to TEAMtalk, Burnley are keen to bring the Dutch player back to Turf Moor in New Year. However, Chelsea’s left-back doesn’t seem to like this idea very much. Maatsen does not want to join a club that is fighting for relegation in the Premier League, with the Clarets currently ranked 19th in the rankings and have won just 1 of their first 10 matches.
The home team at Turf Moor tried to bring the young Dutch star back to Lancashire last summer, but the defender himself chose to stay at Stamford Bridge.
