Graham Potter was appointed as Chelsea head coach last September, replacing Thomas Tuchel due to a transfer order (including the return of Ronaldo) of the American billionaire, Todd Boehly.

To get Potter out of Brighton, Chelsea will have to pay the contract release fee. And now the amount is revealed by Brighton itself in the financial statements: it is a huge number, up to 21.5 million pounds.
According to Football London, of the above £21.5 million, about £20 million is Chelsea’s compensation for Coach Potter’s contract with Brighton, the rest includes 4 members of the BHL that this military leader brought to Stamford Bridge.
Graham Potter began his role as Chelsea manager with a nine-match unbeaten streak in all competitions before being beaten 4-1 by his former club Brighton the following October.

Since then, Chelsea under Potter has been quite long, causing him to be under great pressure many times, being called by fans to dismiss the club despite having a 5-year contract. Specifically, the Blues started 2023 with only 1 win in 11 matches, setting a bad record for the whole month of February with only 1 goal.
However, three consecutive victories, including a 2-0 victory over Dortmund in the second leg of the round of 16, helped Chelsea get tickets to the Champions League quarter-finals, somewhat reducing the burden on the 47-year-old captain.
But concern returned to the team’s last game before FIFA Days, dropping 2 points of regret when Everton scored at the end of the game (draw 2-2).
Chelsea, currently 10th in the Premier League, will return from the international break with a match against Aston Villa on April 1.
