At the present time, Gabriel Jesus is Arsenal’s number one striker. The Brazil international was signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for £45m. In addition to Jesus, Arsenal also has Eddie Nketiah, who was recently called up to the England team.
Although both are in good form, journalist Charles Watts feels that the striker will be a transfer priority for the North London team in the summer of 2024.
“If Arsenal are going to do something big next summer, it will be (buying) a striker. That’s a position they’ll certainly be looking to improve,” Watts told Inside Arsenal.
According to the report, Brentford’s Ivan Toney is one of the names contacted by the Gunners. The former Peterborough United star has been impressive since the Bees were promoted to the Premier League. However, he is currently suspended until January for charges related to illegal betting.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is another option for Arteta. Daily Mail claims it would take at least £130m to sign Osimhen.
